http://www.todayscountrymag.com/bradysealscd.htm Brady Seals is no stranger to country music lovers. His voice could be heard on the numerous hit songs from his former bands Little Texas and on the hit song “Hillbillies” from his band Hot Apple Pie. Although what a lot of people may not realize is that in between all of his success, Brady Seals has been putting out solo albums and has now delivered his fourth with Play Time and it gets your feet moving from the get go and never lets up. Brady Seals stays focused on up and mid-tempo songs throughout the album giving fans a chance to move along with two-steppin’ styled songs like “Ho Down” and “You’ll Come Runnin’.” Just as he did with Hot Apple Pie, Seals also filters in a heavy dose of bluesy influence as well as is evident when you give a spin to cuts like “Bubba’s Pimpin’ Ride” and he doesn’t shine away from a John Fogerty influenced country feel as he shows on songs like “Been There, Drunk That” and “Everybody Smokes In Hell.” Brady Seals may or may not find the same success as a solo artist that he has in the past with Little Texas and Hot Apple Pie, but that would be a shame if he doesn’t. His combination of country, blues, and old fashioned rock-n-roll is just what country radio’s mainstream needs a dose of right now and even if they don’t grab hold of it, this album is still well worth a spin for your fans of good, solid country music surrounded by a solid vocalist to deliver the foot-tapping songs. ©2008 Stetson Promotions |
